A Gentle Landing
George and his wife Joy are grateful for the warm welcome and great care George continues to receive. Thank you for ensuring the quality of life of seniors and Veterans with your generosity.
After a lifetime of moving from place to place, George knows what it means to arrive somewhere new. His career as a pilot took him around the world—into war zones, peacekeeping missions, and countries far from home. But none of those arrivals compares to the welcome he received when he moved to Perley Health.
Because of you, what could have been a difficult transition became something truly heartwarming. From his very first days, George noticed the difference your generosity makes. Staff pause in the halls to chat. Neighbours stop to introduce themselves. Small, caring moments helped George feel at ease immediately.
“It felt easy,” George says. “People cared. Right away.”
You’re also the reason music fills George’s days. Armed with his harmonica, he is often heard playing a quick tune as he moves through the halls. It’s his favourite way to break the ice and spark a smile.
“It’s an easy way to say hello,” George says with a grin.
But the music doesn’t stop there. Because of you, George also sings in the Perley Health choir run by Music Therapist, Tim through the Ozerdinc Grimes Family Therapeutic Recreation and Creative Arts program.
Your generosity ensures that creative expression is part of everyday life, helping residents like George feel engaged, valued, and connected in ways words alone can’t always achieve. Thank you!
